About Us

Our Vision

For the love of God and for the people of the Coast.

Our Mission

Extending the Love of Christ.

Reaching people for Christ.

Growing in the image of Christ.

Our Culture

A culture where Christ is central  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:12

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4

They all joined together constantly in prayer... Acts 1:14

Do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10

These are the numbers of the men armed for battle who came to David at Hebron to turn Saul’s kingdom over to him… from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do. 1 Chronicles 12:23, 32

I urge you, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

My righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back. Hebrews 10:38

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47

Our Beliefs

El Morro Church is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene, an international church that began in 1907 and is now ministering in over 175 world areas and composed of over 30,000 churches world-wide. The Church of the Nazarene is the largest denomination in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Following is a list of our “Articles of Faith.”

We believe in one God, the creator of all things, who reveals himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(Gen. 1:1, 26, 27; Ps. 90:2; Mt. 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Cor. 13:14)

We believe in Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man at the same time, who became like us to bring about our salvation. (Mt. 1:22-23; Is. 9:6; Jn. 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Heb. 4:14-15; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Tim. 6:14-15; Titus 2:13)

We believe in the Holy Spirit, coequal with the Father and the Son of God, who is active in the world, bringing us to salvation and empowering us to grow in the image of God. (2 Cor. 3:17; Jn. 16:7-13. 14:16-17; Acts 1:8, 1 Cor. 2:12, 3:16; Eph. 1:13; Gal. 5:25; Eph. 5:18)

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, giving us all we need to know about how to be saved from our sins and the authoritative basis for Christian beliefs and living. (2 Tim. 1:13, 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; Ps. 119:105, 160, 12:6; Prov. 30:5)

We believe that we are all sinners and we need God's forgiveness and cleansing. (Gen. 1:27; Ps. 8:3-6; Is. 53:6; Rom. 3:23; Is. 59:1-2)

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and that only by trusting in His death and resurrection and acknowledge Jesus as Savior and Lord we are restored to a right relationship with God. While salvation is God's free gift to us, we accept it. (Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9; Jn. 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Gal. 3:26; Rom. 5:1)

We believe that God desires that none should perish and that all should be saved. Therefore, He has enabled us to turn to Him from sin, but has not forced us to do so. (Jn. 10:29, 2 Tim. 1:12; Heb. 7:25; 10:10-14; 1 Pet. 1:3-5)

We believe that God desires each person to repent, or turn away, from a lifestyle of sins. (Acts 2:38, 3:19, 5:31; Mark 1:14-15; Lk. 13:1-5)

We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Christ, the old record of sin is wiped clean, and we become a child of God and a part of His family. (Jn. 1:12-13, 3:3-8, 5:24; Rom. 1:17, 3:21-28, 4:5-9, 6:4, 8:1-2; 1 Cor. 6:11; 2 Cor. 5:17)

We also believe that God desires total devotion to Him, in heart and in lifestyle--Lordship. This process of surrendering accompanied by God's Spirit purifying us is often referred to as entire sanctification. (1 Cor. 6:11; 1 Thes. 4:3-8; Heb. 10:26-31; 1 Thes. 5:23-24)

We believe in the church as a community that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and is lead by the Holy Spirit through His Word. We are called to worship, unity, and the work of evangelism. (Mt. 16:13-19, 18:19-20; Jn. 17:20-23; Acts 1:7-8)

We believe in baptism and believe God has called all His people to be baptized as Christians. (Mt. 28:19; Mk. 16:16; Acts 2:38; 1 Cor. 12:13)

We believe in the significance of the Lord's Supper. (Mt. 26:26-29; Mk. 14:22-25; Lk. 22:17-20; Jn. 6:28-58; 1 Cor. 10:14-21, 11:23-32)

We believe in the healing power of God and urge our people to pray for healing. We also believe that God can work through medical science. (Mt. 4:23-24, 9:18-35; Jn. 4:46-54; Acts 5:12-16, 9:32-42, 14:8-15; 1 Cor. 12:4-11; 2 Cor. 12:7-10)

We believe Jesus Christ is coming again and if we are abiding in Him, we shall be brought into God’s heavenly presence with all God’s saints. (Mt. 25:31-46; Jn. 14:1-3; Acts 1:911; Ph. 3:20-21; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-14; Heb. 9:26-28; 2 Pet. 3:3-15)

We believe everyone shall face the judgment of God with its rewards and punishments. (Mt. 25:31-46; Mk. 9:43-48; Lk. 16:19-31; 20:27-38; Jn. 3:16-18; 5:25-29; 11:21-27; Acts 17:30-31; Rom. 2:1-16; 14:7-12; 1 Cor. 15:12-58; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Thess. 1:5-10)

Lenten Art Project
We want to bring inspiration and creativity to El Morro Church. We believe our faith can only fully come alive when we engage our WHOLE self and senses. Would you submit art in any medium (photography, glass, painting, sketching, poetry, etc.) representing the theme: Hope Is... We will display it through the Easter season in the foyer to lead us to a deeper understanding of the Hope of Easter!
